DRDO's Foolish Steps.

Some time ago, in one of the news channel the honorable Defence Minister was spotted with a smile on his face. He was in the parliament and said, “We import 70% of the technology." There is no way out.

I understand for a sensible mass leader who understands the value of the tax-payers’ money and anguish hidden behind the short smile.

DRDO was established in 1958 and has celebrated its golden jubilee.
-         Did anybody User/Minister and the General Public ask them, how many indigenous products they have given to Indian Defence Forces as Import substitute?
-         What was the reason of unceremoniously closer of IGMDP and SAMUKTA (EW) System?
-         The organization has a humungous man-power of 30000 men with 1st class degrees. Huge dimensioned infrastructure costing 60000 crores. Then why have they failed to address the national-security issues?
-         Where has this incompetence entered the system?

Please analyze it.

If a big program is planned, usually it is sanctioned for a PDC of 36 months.

The great foolish steps:-

-         IGMDP with 20 years (when closed)
-         SAMUKTA (1982 – 2007 when closed)
-         LCA ( 1990 – going on)

Once the PDC was over, the entire scientific machinery exhausted its effort in issuing bluff or white tie. As a result the youngsters of yester years, after taking charge, in 2000, became bluff-masters and left science behind.

Almost all the national issues were ignored.

The most important activity closed by DEAL, Dehradun is the “Nuclear EMP hardening of Communication Systems”. Either it was because the Director DEAL did not want any activity other than his field of research to continue further or God would know better.
If the Minister is serious about the importance of this national security issue, then DEAL Dehradun should be given responsibility.
-         To Harden Telemetry Tele-Command Data Link for Nuclear EMP
-          To Harden CNR ( Combat Net Radio for Nuclear EMP

I hope someone can think and take an initiative about this issue of national importance.
